Now you can build your LJ just like Daddy Longlegs! All of the armor that was custom-designed for this iconic stretched LJ is now available. These items require a 4" rear wheelbase stretch, and they allow up to a 40" tire. These "Daddy Longlegs" Crusher Corners™ are designed to provide for this wheelbase stretch, and also provide the added strength of true "wheel well to wheel well" (WW2WW) rocker protection (when used with "Dadddy Longlegs" special edition Rocker Knockers™). The huge wheel opening is also moved up as high as possible for eXtreme Clearance (they are a perfect match with our front DeFender XC's) and allowing for extreme articulation while maintaining a Low Center Of Gravity (LCOG).

Product Description

Crusher Corners™—The Ultimate Corner Armor

Poison Spyder Crusher Corners™ protect your Jeep's vulnerable rear body corners by cladding them in rugged, high strength 3/16" plate steel armor. Crusher Corners™ are manufactured to hug the lines of your Jeep's body tub perfectly, forming a glove-fit with virtually no loss of valuable ground clearance. Crusher Corners™ are CNC laser cut from high strength 3/16" plate steel, and precisiion brake-formed in a single full-radius bend, for a perfect fit. Bolt holes are countersunk for the included stainless steel flat head hardware, which yields a flat, unobstructed surface to slide over obstacles. All mounting hardware is included as well as detailed installation instructions.

"Daddy Longlegs" Custom Crusher Corners™

These Crusher Corners™ are designed to provide the same benefits as the ones that were custom designed for our "Daddy Longlegs" stretched LJ. They provide for a 4" wheelbase stretch with up to a 40" tire. The longer wheelbase is key for maximizing off-road performance and climbing ability. Moving the rear axle back also improves the departure angle at the rear of the Jeep. These Crusher Corners™ also provide for "wheel well to wheel well" coverage (when used with "Daddy Longlegs" Rocker Knockers™), providing full wrap-under protection right to the rear wheel opening. In addition to the wheelbase stretch and huge wheel opening, the wheel opening has also been moved up as high as possible, providing for eXtreme Clearance (they are a perfect match with our front DeFender XC's) and allowing for extreme articulation while maintaining a Low Center Of Gravity (LCOG). Note that all of the "Daddy Longlegs" components, including Rocker Knockers™ Crusher Corners&trade: and DeFender™ Flares, are designed to fit and work together. They may be purchased separately but are not guaranteed to fit with other manufacturer's armor products.

"Daddy Longlegs" Rear Crusher Flares™

These special edition Crusher Corners™ come with special "Daddy Longlegs" versions of our 3" Rear DeFender™ Flares, already welded on. These DeFender™ Flares are designed to match Poison Spyder's front DeFender XC's to provide the eXtreme Clearance of a "highline" rear flare. They allow for a huge wheel opening to fit up to a 40" tire, and are designed specifically to fit with the Daddy Longlegs version "wheel well to wheel well" Rocker Knockers™ and Crusher Corners™. Fabricated entirely of 3/16" plate steel, DeFender™ Flares are a tubeless design, meaning they aren't constructed with the thinner wall (.120") tubing outer rail, as traditional tube fenders and flares are built. DeFender Flares feature a sturdy outer edge formed of 3/16" plate, with a full under-side return for strength.

Taillight, License Plate and Tailgate Considerations

"Daddy Longlegs" Crusher Corners™ require deletion of the stock taillight boxes, and replacing them with flush-mount, high-intensity LED taillights. These LED taillights are rugged, bright, and most importantly very low profile so they won't get knocked off the Jeep by a protruding rock. If converting to LED taillights for the first time, an upgraded LED Electronic Flasher may be needed to crrect the turn signal strobe timing. "Daddy Longlegs" Crusher Corners™ do not come with cut-outs for the stock tailgate hinges, and therefore require the use of a drop-down tailgate such as Poison Spyder's TrailGate™. These Corners also require relocating the license plate from its OE location on the lower driver's side corner. We recommend locating it to the center of the TrailGate™, if not running a bumper-mounted spare tire. It may be installed there by simply drilling four holes and bolting it directly to the surface of the TrailGate™. If using a bumper-mounted spare tire, the license plate may be relocated to the center of the spare tire. If it is a Poison Spyder RockBrawler Rear Bumper with Tire Carrier, it already comes with a license plate mount to do this. DIY solutions may have to be found for other manufacturer's bumper/tire carriers. Our LED License Plate & Third Brake Light with 6' Extension Harness may be used to illuminate the relocated license plate, if desired.

Frequently Asked Questions

Got a question about this product? We've tried to cover the most frequently asked ones below. Ask our sales department by email at [email protected], and we'll get back to you as soon as possible with the information you need.

Q: Can I order it powder coated?

A: At this time we are not offering powder coat for this product. If we are able to devise suitable packaging which will adequately protect the powder coat finish during transit, we may add a powder coat option in the future.

Q: How do I choose between steel and aluminum?

A: It depends on how you use your Jeep, what kind of wheeling you do, and which product you're considering. For armor used on Jeeps that get wheeled hard in extreme rock terrain, we prefer steel because it is simply more durable, less susceptible to bending or gouging, and will distribute impact loads over wider areas better. But the trade-off is that steel is of course heavier. There are some who prefer a lighter rig even in hard core terrain, opting to use aluminum but accepting the greater risk of damage in order to gain the performance of a lighter rig. For these folks, if their driving style is more finessed and patient, aluminum might be the better choice. For vehicles being used primarily on the street, and light trail duty, the aluminum products might be the better choice solely for the weight savings.
