I've been greatly impressed with Poison Spyder products over the years. Their products are all over my jeep from the crusher corners to brawler front bumper. I bought the Stinger tire carrier because I didn't have enough clearance with the Brawler tire carrier. Believe me I've put this stuff to the test!!! Rember when in doubt MASH IT!!!

Top quality construction and in my epinion more suitable for a large spare tire alot easer to swing up a large tire then to pick up and place on a swing out style carrer. Company is top quality I cant say enough good things about the Stinger and the company.

Awesome Tire Carrier...not for everyone

Obviously just from looking at it, this thing isn't for everyone. It offers a nice solution for those who play in the rocks because of the skid plate and ability to hold 40"+ tires.
I was afraid this thing would be heavy to lift off the ground; this was a concern because I'd hurt my back about a year ago. Once I got it on it was very easy to let down and put up, however it takes a bit of work compared to traditional tire carriers.
Also, since I have about a 3" lift, it swings down farther and doesn't stick out the back too far when it's down either. This was a concern for me, because as a DD my Jeep does visit some parking lots.
My main complaint is that it's a pain to get in the back of the Jeep, only because of my hardtop. It takes about 5 minutes total to get this thing down and back up if you're by yourself. SO, I'm considering getting rid of the hardtop and buying a softtop. That way I can throw things in the back through the zipper windows.
