While not necessary I went ahead and opted for the liners. After installation I see where the liner can reduce vibrations as well as add an extra layer of protection between the sliders and the body preventing rubbing or vibration that over time could result in spot rust if paint gets removed.

The rubber liners are definantly a must have if you want to protect the body of your jeep. Only problem was the cut out for the Poision Spyder emblem on the rockers was not big enough and had to trim it out a little more, but not that big of a deal.
